Patient Rights and Responsibilities

Oasis Hospice upholds the rights of every patient under Medicare and Medicaid regulations. We are committed to delivering care that respects each patient's dignity, privacy, and individual needs.

Patient Rights:

  • To receive high-quality, compassionate hospice care that is free from discrimination.

  • To be informed about their diagnosis, treatment options, and care plan.

  • To participate in decisions regarding their care and treatment.

  • To receive services in a safe and respectful environment.

  • To privacy, confidentiality, and protection of their medical records.

  • To file a complaint or grievance without fear of retaliation.

  • To receive information about charges and services covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance.

Patient Responsibilities:

  • To provide accurate information about their health and care preferences.

  • To participate actively in their care plan and communicate their needs.

  • To treat caregivers and staff with respect.

  • To inform the hospice team of any changes in their health condition.

  • To meet their financial obligations for services not covered by insurance.

Medicare Beneficiary Information
Effective Date: January 2025

Oasis Hospice provides care under the Medicare Hospice Benefit. As a Medicare beneficiary, you have important rights and protections.

Your Medicare Hospice Rights:

  • To receive care for your terminal illness and related conditions.

  • To receive services including nursing care, pain management, and emotional support.

  • To choose your hospice provider.

  • To continue receiving care as long as you are eligible.

  • To revoke hospice care at any time and return to standard Medicare coverage.
